Obituary

Ms. Lisa Kay Basinger, 44, of Fayetteville passed away on Wednesday, Aug. 21, 2013, in her home. She was a 1987 graduate of Pine Forest Senior High School and attended East Carolina University in Greenville for three years. Lisa was a member of First Baptist Church. She was a former Account officer and collections manager at Methodist University's business office and worked in the real estate business for 15 years. She was so blessed to have made so many friends throughout her life. She never met a stranger, cared deeply for people, and will be remembered for her sense of humor, smile, thoughtfulness and vivacious personality. Lisa treasured her family, friends and little dog, Neema. She will be forever missed and forever in our hearts. She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Sam S. and Muriel W. Turner; paternal grandparents, Ernest E. and Dessie M. Basinger; great-grandmother, Lura R. Williford; great-uncles, George A. Vestal and Daniel S. Williford Jr.; and great-aunt Sybil W. Miller. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 28, 2013, in First Baptist Church with the Rev. A. Edward Beddingfield Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in Lafayette Memorial Park on Ramsey Street. The family will receive friends at Jernigan-Warren Funeral Home from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 27, 2013, Ms. Basinger is survived by her parents, Kenneth E. "Sonny" Basinger and Sandra T. Basinger of Fayetteville; her sister Ashlee M. Basinger of Fayetteville; and her great-aunt Janice W. Vestal of Fayetteville. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Baptist Church, 201 Anderson St., Fayetteville, NC 28301. The family will receive friends at Jernigan-Warren Funeral Home from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 27, 2013, Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 28, 2013, in First Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Lafayette Memorial Park on Ramsey Street.
