Fayetteville- Mr. Lawrence J. "L.J." Jackson, 73, went home to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on Sunday, January 30, 2011.
Funeral services will be held Friday, February 4, 2011, at 3 p.m. in Jernigan Warren Chapel by Rev. Tryon D. Lancaster. The burial will follow at LaFayette Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 3 pm Friday at Jernigan Warren.
He is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Phyllis; daughter, Lisa Jackson Flowers and husband, Alan, of Orlando, FL; son, Windell Lawrence Jackson and wife, Lynn, of Fayetteville; sisters, Josephine Tew and Grace Jackson of Lumberton, NC, Gertie Tatum, Helen Grimsley and husband Luther, and Evelyn Blackwell, all of Saint Pauls, NC, and Bonnie Dawson of Lumber Bridge, NC; grandchildren, Carrie Flowers Parks and husband, William, of Dumfries, VA, Patrick Jackson of Stockbridge, GA, Kenley and Kellen Flowers of Orlando, R.J., Hanna, and Chip Jackson of Fayetteville; and his first great-grandchild William Parks of Dumfries, VA, who was born on January 29, 2011, and his mother-in-law, Ellen Rivers of the home.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Zanie and Addie Jackson and son, Mark Zanie Jackson.
L.J. was the owner of Jackson Heating and Air Conditioning Company. He was an active member of Wesley Heights United Methodist Church. He will be missed by all those that knew and loved him.
