Lloyd Benton Smith, 94, of Fayetteville passed away Monday, July 29, 2019 at Bethesda Health Care.

Lloyd was born July 19, 1925 in Richmond Co. to the late William D. Smith and Elrena Herring Smith. He was a lifetime member of Carroll Memorial Baptist Church and retired from Black and Decker after many years of service.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, August 2, 2019 at 1 p.m. at Jernigan-Warren Chapel. Burial will follow in Lafayette Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 12 noon -1 p.m. prior to the service at the Jernigan-Warren Funeral Home.

Lloyd was preceded in death by his wife, Agnes Smith; sisters, Rosa Britt, Kathleen Parker, Louise Sutton, Shirley Morrison; brothers, Alex Smith and Bruce Smith.

He is survived by his daughters, Deborah Johnson and husband R. L., Melissa Davis and husband Rick; son, Michael Smith; 10 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; 1 great great granddaughter; and a host of nieces and nephews.

The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to the staff of Bethesda Health Care for their tender, loving care.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
