Ms. Lola "Grace" Giddens, 87, went to be with her Lord on Sunday, January 21, 2018 surrounded by her family.

Grace was devoted to her family. Nothing made her happier than to host, cook, and provide for them. She would say "I'm just a simple housewife", but to her family, she was much, much more than that.

She was a military wife for 23 years, while her husband served in the Korean War and 3 tours in Vietnam. For the remaining 17 years, she was a devoted housewife and mother.

She is survived by her son Scott Giddens (Colee); daughter Karen G. Everitte (Oscar); 5 grand-daughers: Erika E. Snodgrass, Holli G. Simpson, Stefanie G. Koepke, Morgan G. Stone, and Arin E. Winter; 8 great-grandchildren: Kendall, Brandon, Kayleigh, Leyna, Ethan, Jaxon, Adelyn, and Brody.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Mattie and Lou Ellen Day; a sister, Oletha Jones; and 2 brothers: Tiny Walter Day and William Day

A funeral service will be held Thursday, January 25, 2018 at Jernigan-Warren Funeral Home at 2 P.M. Entombment will follow at Lafayette Memorial Park. The family will receive friends and family Wednesday, January 24, 2018 from 6-8 P.M. at Jernigan-Warren Funeral Home.
