Mr. Lonnie Wilbert Spell, 72, passed away Tuesday, December 23, 2014 at his home.

For 45 years, Wilbert served as Superintendent for Carlisle Contractors and ES&J Enterprises.He took young men under his wing and taught them the ways of the construction industry.Wilbert probably forgot more about laying sewer than most people will ever learn.He was the absolute best at what he did and those of Carlisle Contractors and ES&J Enterprises were privileged to call him their friend.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Lester Frank and Iruthie Warren Spell of Roseboro, NC and a sister, Margaret Spell Walker of Fayetteville, NC.

He is survived by his wife, Nancy Kay Spell; a son, Lonnie Wilbert Spell II and a daughter, Rhonda Spell Haskins, both of Fayetteville, NC.; a daughter-in-law Shannon Spell; 4 grandchildren,Ryan Lester Spell, David Kent Swiderski Jr, Brooke Nichol Swiderski, and Nathan Scott Haskins; a step grandchild, Christopher Clifton; and 2 great-grandchildren and 1 step great-grandchild.He is also survived by a brother James Bertice Spell and wife Elizabeth of Salemburg, NC; a sister, Brownie Catherine Spell and husband DK of Clinton, NC ; brother-in-law, Jerome Walker of Eastover, NC and several nieces and nephews.

Family will receive visitors at 12pm on Friday, December 26 ^th at Praise Fellowship Church of God, corner of B and Adam Street, Fayetteville, NC.The funeral service will be held at the church at 1pm.Burial will follow in Lafayette Memorial Park, Ramsey Street, Fayetteville, NC.
