Lorene Murphree Downs, 92, of Fayetteville passed away Thursday, November 18, 2021 at Bradley Creek Health Center in Wilmington, NC.

Lorene was born October 14, 1929 in Warrior, AL to the late Abigail and Ira Murphree. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Downs and sisters, Sue Holley, Rita Treadway, and Randa Saunders.

Graveside services will be Tuesday, November 23, 2021 at 3 pm at Lafayette Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at Jernigan-Warren Funeral Home from 6-8:00 pm on Monday.

She is survived by her sons, Mike Downs and wife Theresa, Roy Downs and wife Janie, Ronnie Downs and wife Wanda; sisters, Earlene Grey and Alice Frost; 5 grandchildren and 7 great-granddaughters.
