Obituary

Ada Louise Blackmon White, 67, of 1913 Rock Hill Road, Eastover, died Friday night, March 25, 2011 in Chapel Hill, NC at UNC Hospitals. Born January 29, 1944 in Sampson County to the late Wade Hampton and Blanche Carr Blackmon, she was the wife of Glenn Edwin White for 41 years. She retired after 30 years of teaching, having taught at Eastover Elementary School, Armstrong Elementary, and 3rd, 5th and 6th grades at College Lakes Elementary in Fayetteville. She graduated from Campbell College with honors in 1966, where she studied Elementary Education and was valedictorian at Central High School in Eastover, NC. Survivors include her husband, Glenn E. White of Eastover, NC; daughter, Christie Louise White Sanders and Jamie, of Athens, GA; daughter, Mary Winifred White, of Eastover, NC; a sister, Jean Blackmon-Brauer, of Raleigh, NC. She was preceded in death by brothers Wayland and Newland Blackmon. Memorial services will be held on Thursday, March 31, 2011 at 3pm, at Jernigan Warren Funeral Home in Fayetteville, NC. The service will be officiated by Pastor Lee Lane of Bethesda Friends Meeting in Dunn, and Pastor Ken Spivey. Visitation with the family will be immediately afterwards. A second memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 2, 2011 at 2pm, at Piney Woods Friends Meeting in Belvidere, NC. The service will be officiated by pastors Frank Carter and Ken Spivey.
