Lucille Dickinson died April 20, 2011. She was born on May 29, 1925, to Annie and Lawrence Stubbs in Fayetteville, NC. She was a very loving daughter, wife, mother, and grandmother and great-grandmother. Her home was the gathering place for family and friends who could expect love, laughter, understanding, and delicious southern cooking. She was preceded in death by her parents, seven brothers, three sisters, her husband and the love of her life Gilbert Dickinson, and her beloved grandson Brian Powers. She is survived by her daughter, Robin Powers and husband, Larry; her sons, Ronald Dickinson and wife, Betty, and Richard Dickinson. Her grandchildren are Morgan Dickinson and wife, Melinda, Stuart Powers, Jamie Dickinson, Amanda Brack and husband, Steve, and Jason Dickinson. She is also survived by three great-grandchildren Madison Dickinson, Merritt Dickinson, and Karson Dickinson. She also leaves behind to cherish her memory a sister, Grace McNeill. She was also a loving aunt to many nieces and nephews. Services will be held on Saturday, April 23, 2011, with a visitation from 11 am until noon at Jernigan Warren Funeral Home with services to follow in the chapel conducted by Dr. Randall Bremer. The burial will follow at LaFayette Memorial Park. The family wishes to thank the staff at Hope Mills Retirement Center for the loving care provided to her during the last two and one half years.
