Obituary

Melba Debrue Truelove, 86, of Fayetteville died peacefully Saturday, January 08, 2011, in Haymount Rehabilitation & Nursing Center following a period of declining health. Debrue was born July 14, 1924 in Cumberland County, to George Robert & Nancy Johnson Williams. She retired from Winn Dixie after 31 years of dedicated employment. She was a member of Cedar Creek Baptist Church for the past 47 years and served as Church Treasurer for 34 of those years. She loved her Savior and loved the community in which she served. Mrs. Truelove is survived by those she considered family, Rev. David & Carolyn Weeks, Tim, Lauri, Nathan, & Abbi Ake of Fayetteville, Mike, Rebekah, & Cara Klapp of Linden, and Rev. Lee, Dawn, Anna, Lydia, Caleb, & Avery Weeks of Gainesville, GA; a grandson, Russell Volk of Lindale, TX; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 51 years J. Erwin Truelove, her parents, as well as 5 sisters and 3 brothers. A celebration service of her life and home going will be held Wednesday, January 12, 2011, at 1pm in Cedar Creek Baptist Church by Dr. John Peverett, Rev. David Weeks, and Rev. Lee Weeks. Burial will follow in LaFayette Memorial Park on Ramsey St. in Fayetteville. The family will receive friends from 12pm-1pm prior to the service at the church.
