Mrs. Mabel Peterson Powell, 83 of Fayetteville passed away on Friday, June 22, 2012 in the Carroll S. Roberson Hospice Center surrounded by her loving family. She was a retired employee with Fayetteville Publishing Company. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, June 24, 2012 at 3:00 p.m. in Jernigan-Warren Chapel with Rev. Archie Barringer, officiating. Burial will follow in Cumberland Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday, June 24, 2012 from 2:00 till 3:00 p.m. and other times at 1929 River Rd. Fayetteville, N.C. 28312.Mrs. Powell was preceded in death by her loving husband Jasper "Jack" David Powell, Sr., She is survived by her 4 sons, William Terry Powell, Sr and his wife, Donna of Fayetteville, Jasper David Powell, Jr and his wife Cheri of Columbia, SC, Richard K Powell and his wife, Betty of Fayetteville, NC, and John Kevin Powell and his wife Deborah of Fayetteville, NC, 2 Daughters, Donna P. Smith of Roseboro, NC and June P. Biggs and her husband Scotty of Fayetteville, NC, 2 sisters, Kathleen Hillinch of Chesapeake, VA and Hettie Naylor of Greensboro, NC, 10 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren & 1 great-great grandchild Visitation: one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
