Rev. Samuel Duncan "Mack" McMillan III, 50, of Rocky Mount., died Monday, October 25, 2010, at Nash General Hospital. A memorial service will be held Thursday, October 28, 2010, at 1 pm in First United Methodist Church- Rocky Mount with Rev. Robert E. Bergland, Bishop Alfred W. Gwinn, Bishop Paul L. Leeland, , and Rev. Jon Strother officiating. The family will receive friends following the service in the church annex. Mack was a graduate of UNC-Chapel Hill and Duke University Divinity School. In addition to being a wonderful husband and loving father, he was a faithful minister in the United Methodist Church of the North Carolina Conference. His appointments include First United Methodist Church- Roanoke Rapids, St. Joseph - Mt. Carmel UMC, Pikeville, Mt. Zion UMC, Garner, Riverside UMC, Elizabeth City, New Beginnings UMC, Youngsville, Saint Luke UMC, Laurinburg, and Rocky Mount District Superintendent. He was preceded in death by his father, Samuel Duncan McMillan, Jr., and brother, David Bellamy McMillan. Mack is survived by his wife, Paige Lancaster McMillan of the home; son, Samuel Duncan McMillan IV of the home; daughter, Hannah Elizabeth McMillan of the home; mother, Frances B. McMillan of Raleigh; two sisters, Elizabeth McMillan Smith and husband, Harrison, of Carolina Beach, and Sara McMillan Perkinson and husband, Cary, of Garner; his uncle Walker Bellamy and wife, Jean, of Clinton and cousin Dennis Bellamy and wife, Donna, of New Bern; his in-laws, Tryon and Anne Lancaster of Fayetteville; sister-in-law, Sarah Lancaster of Wake Forest; brothers-in-law, Del Lancaster of Wake Forest and Jamie Lancaster and wife, Kendra, of Fayetteville; and nieces and nephews, Cameron, Forrest, Kenneth, Lane, Jay and Jack.
