Mrs. Madeline Hair Grimes, 84, of Fayetteville, died Friday, January 13, 2017, in her residence.

Mrs. Grimes was born August 6, 1932, to the late James "Shack" and Flonnie Hair of Vander. After graduating high school, she worked for Roses and then Carolina Telephone. Eventually, she became an admission clerk at Womack Army Medical Center where she retired.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, January 16, 2017 at 2:00 pm in the Northview Baptist Church auditorium. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 12:30 to 2:00 pm at the church building.

She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Brooks R. Grimes, Sr.; her sons, Brooks, Jr. and wife Doris of Fayetteville, Stanley Grimes and wife Sherry of Fayetteville, and Carson Grimes and wife Angela of Wilmington; 6 grandchildren, Chadwick Grimes and wife Jennifer of Beaver Creek, OH, Jonathan Grimes and wife Jenna of Fayetteville, Heather Lenderman and husband Paul of Oxnard, CA, Sarah Weaver and husband Todd of Santa Barbara, CA, Michael Grimes and wife Kelly of Destin, FL and Joshua Evers of Aberdeen, MD; and 15 great-grandchildren.

Madeline Grimes was an active member of the Northview Baptist Church from its founding and she left this world with an unwavering faith in Jesus Christ. According to the Scriptures, she is now absent from the body and present with the Lord.
