Mrs. Magdalena Johana Kato, 81, of Fayetteville, died Saturday, Feb. 2, 2008, in Cape Fear Valley Medical Center. Funeral services will be conducted at 3 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 9, 2008, in the chapel of Jernigan-Warren Funeral Home in Fayetteville. Entombment will follow in Cumberland Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 2 to 3 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Mrs. Kato was preceded in death by her husband, George Kato. She is survived by a son, Ed Kato of Wake Forest; faithful companion, Won Poo; and several nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the SPCA of Cumberland County, 3232 Bragg Blvd., Fayetteville, NC 28303.
