Magdelena Erika McKnight, died Tuesday, November 7, 2017. She was born and raised in Germany on March 31, 1943. She later married and celebrated her 50th year anniversary this year to the love of her life, Jimmy Stoney McKnight. Together they had three children, Petra Hughes, Jimmy D. McKnight and Jamie McKnight and four grandchildren, Michael, Kendall, Mason, and Cooper. She is survived by her husband, her children and grandchildren, her sister Gerda Slattery, and in addition, her extended family who were blessed to become a part of her life, Robert, Michelle,Tiffany, Lindsey and Selah.

Mrs. McKnight was known by most as Erika but even more commonly she was known and loved by everyone as Oma. Oma was a beautiful, selfless soul whose entire life was devoted to her husband, children and grandchildren. If Oma wasn't nurturing and spoiling her family, she was on the lake fishing with Opa. They loved to take their boat out onto Shearon Harris Lake to their special fishing spot under her lucky pine tree. Oma was taken from earth too soon and will be missed dearly but during her time here, she left a mark on anyone who met her. To know her was to love her.

Services will be held on Friday, November 17, 2017 at the Sandhills Veteran Cemetery at 12:00 pm. to be followed up with close family and friends at the home. Always Loved * Never Forgotten * Forever Missed
