Mrs. Margaret Averette Beekman, 89, passed away Tuesday, December 1, 2015 in Cape Fear Valley Medical Center.

A memorial service will be held Thursday, December 3, 2015 at Highland Presbyterian Church at 2 P.M. The family will receive friends following the service at the church. Burial will be held at a later date at Arlington National Cemetery. She is preceded in death by her husband, John W. Beekman and a daughter, Carolyn Warmbrod.

She is survived by her daughter, Suzanne Beekman; 2 sons John A. Beekman, Sr. and Paul W. Beekman; Brother Robert H. Averette; 6 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild.
