Margaret Alma Young Myers, 82, of Fayetteville, passed away on Saturday, July 18, 2026, at Valley Hospice House surrounded by her daughters.

Margaret was born November 25, 1943, in Fayetteville, to Roscoe David Young and Eula Mae Morris Young.

During her life she worked for Cumberland County School System and Public Works Commission.

She enjoyed horse racing, especially watching Secreteriat. She loved to shag, trips to the beach, relaxing in and around her pool, and spending time with her children and grandchildren.

Margaret was an active member of Northview Baptist Church and served on the local Homebuilders Association, Dogwood Festival Committee, and the Fayetteville Chamber of Commerce.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husbands John R. Raynor, Sr. and Bobby R. Myers.

Margaret is survived by her daughters, Deborah Godwin (Lynn), Rhonda Britt (John), and Mary Peaden (Jimmy); her son, John Raynor; grandchildren, Jordan Godwin, Graham Godwin, Ashton Britt, Carson Britt; brother, David Young (Tina); and a host of friends and extended family members.

The family will receive friends on Monday, July 27, 2026 from 11 AM to 12 PM at Northview Baptist Church. Funeral services will follow at Northview Baptist Church at 12 PM officiated by Pastor Brooks Grimes, Jr. Burial will follow at Cross Creek Cemetery #3, Lamon St. in Fayetteville.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Northview Baptist Church Building Fund.
