Tatum
July 19, 1922 – November 17, 2015
Mrs. Margaret Tadlock Tatum, 93, passed away Tuesday morning, November 17, 2015, in the NC State Veterans Nursing Home.
Margaret was a 2nd Lt. in the US Army Nursing Corps during WWII and was the charge nurse of the plastic surgery ward at the VA Hospital. She also was a Kindergarten nurse at Fort Bragg for six years. She was a member of Cedar Creek Baptist Church, a Sunday School teacher, and active with the GA's, which she helped start.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, November 20, 2015, at 12 noon in Cedar Creek Baptist Church with Dr. John Peverett presiding. The burial will follow in the church cemetery.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Rupert Tatum, Sr., previous co-owner of Tatum Bros; and a sister, Anna Dora Hienly.
She is survived by her sons, Rupert E. Tatum Jr. and wife Eleanor and George Tatum; daughter, Anna Smith and husband Ronald, all of Fayetteville; five grandchildren: twin grandsons James and Ethan Smith, and three granddaughters, Beth Tatum, Britt Tatum and Meg Dillon and husband Chris; one great-grandchild, Tatum Dillon; one brother, Edgar Tadlock from Greenville; and a sister, Myrtle Bailey of Florida.
The family will receive friends prior to the service on Friday, from 11 to noon at Cedar Creek Baptist Church in the Fellowship Hall.
