Mrs. Maria Anna Wetherwax, 78, of Fayetteville, died Tuesday, July 1, 2008, at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center. A funeral service will be held Monday, July 7, 2008, at 11 am in Jernigan Warren Chapel. The burial will follow at Sandhills State Veterans Cemetery in Spring Lake. She is survived by her husband, John Paul Wetherwax; two sons, John Paul Wetherwax Jr. and Hansi Wetherwax; a daughter, Cindy Wetherwax; a brother, Franz Fuhrmann; and two grandchildren. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service on Monday, from 10 to 11 am at the funeral home.
