Marie McKenzie Campbell, 96, of Fayetteville passed away on Sunday, November 8, 2015 in Carolina Inn with her beloved family by her side.
She was born on March 17, 1919 in Moore County, N.C. to the late Vina Lewis and Daniel A. McKenzie.
Marie was preceded in death by her husband Worth Campbell, Jr., a brother, Murphy McKenzie, and a sister, Bonnie McInnis.
She was a faithful member of Immanuel Baptist Church. Marie was active in the Very Important Persons Senior Citizens Group at the church. She was a member of the National Association Retired Federal Employees and participated in the Sunshine Girls Group.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, November 11, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. in Jernigan-Warren Chapel with Pastor Jim Boyle, officiating. A private burial will follow in Lafayette Memorial Park on Ramsey St. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, November 11, 2015 from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m.
She is survived by a son, Worth Gilmore "Gil" Campbell, III of Fayetteville; daughters, Donna Kanode and husband Mel of Fayetteville; Linda Carroll and husband Mike of Pinehurst; grandchildren, David Campbell, Melissa Kanode Baldwin, Matthew Kanode, Ryan Carroll, Stephen Carroll, Christa Campbell Hedlund, and Audrey Campbell and four great-grandchildren.
