FAYETTEVILLE -- Mrs. Jeanine Marie Lemaux Jones, of Fayetteville, passed away Friday, March 7, 2013, surrounded by family. She was born Feb. 28, 1925, in Chalons-Sur-Marne, France, to the late Rene and Yvonne Lemaux.
She also was preceded in death by her loving husband of 38 years, John Jones; daughter, Annie Yvonne Cote; and son, Daniel John Jones.
Left to cherish her memories are her daughter, Patricia Postl; son, Michael Jones; grandchildren, Sterling, Stanton Jonathan, Duane, Brian, Stephanie and Zachary; and five great-grandchildren. Mrs. Jones loved being a military wife and mother. She prided herself on keeping her children, house and yard spotless and in good order. She also enjoyed teaching the soldiers at Fort Bragg for 20 years in French language proficiency. She was a member of the French club and very active with the monthly meetings, Bastille Day celebrations, the International Folk Festival parade and march and many other activities they shared. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, March 11, 2013, at Jernigan-Warren Funeral Home in Fayetteville. A funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 12, 2013, at the funeral home, with the Rev. Archie Barringer officiating. Burial will follow in Lafayette Memorial Park on Ramsey Street.Visitation: 6pm to 8 p.m. Monday, March 11, 2013 at Jernigan-Warren Funeral Home.
