Marvin V. Valkenburg Sr. FAYETTEVILLE - Marvin L. Van Valkenburg Sr, 81, of 2149 Montana Road, died Sunday, Dec. 26, 2010, in Cape Fear Valley Medical Center. Funeral services will be private. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Dec. 31, 2010, at Jernigan-Warren Funeral Home in Fayetteville. Mr. Valkenburg was a Vietnam veteran. He retired from the Army as an E-6. He is survived by his daughters, Edna Gail Boggs and Candice Anita Bufford; sons, Marvin L. Van Valkenburg Jr., Thomas Wayne Van Valkenburg, James Maurice Van Valkenburg and Craig Kelly Van Valkenburg; sisters, Lenora Hicks and Adelaide Jasmine; 23 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; and his pride and joy, his 20-year companion, Princess. Services entrusted to Jernigan-Warren Funeral Home of Fayetteville.
