Obituary

Mary Frances Bill FAYETTEVILLE – Mary Frances Bill, 82, went home to be with the Lord on Friday night, February 28, 2014. Born on October 9, 1931, in Laurinburg, NC, she was the daughter of the late Edith Mae Hewitt Sellers. She moved to Fayetteville at the age of four and attended Massey Hill School. At the age of 17, she married Nurman Maurice Bill at the Fayetteville Circuit Parsonage on April 17, 1949. They settled on the north side of Fayetteville and had four children. They built the family home in 1952 where they lived their entire lives. They were married for 49 years before Nurman died on May 28, 1998. She and Nurman founded Bill's Well Drilling Company in 1960, which continues to help thousands of people get access to clean water. Mary loved her church, St. Andrews United Methodist Church, and was a member for over 50 years. Mary had many interests, which included cooking, quilting, writing letters, attending church, visiting friends in their homes and nursing homes, and having family over to her house for all holidays. One of Mary's greatest joys was spending time with her grandchildren. She loved them dearly and enjoyed giving them advice for life. She was a very generous person and loved by all. She is survived by her three daugthers - Jean Kamionka and her husband, Tom of Fayetteville; Sue Powers and her husband, Hall of Fayetteville; Nancy Brock and her husband, L.D. of Fayetteville; and a son, Thomas Bill and his wife, Debra of Bladenboro; eight grandchildren, Wendy James, Heather Unger, Christina Jester, Stacia Bill, Holly Littell, Hallie Powers, Mark Powers, and Jonathan Kamionka; and twelve great grandchildren, Morgan Osburn, Darian Littell, Skyler Littell, Hannah Unger, Payton Bill, Benjamin James, Jason Bill, Hayden Unger, Noah James, Corbin Kamionka, Genevieve Kamionka, and Colton Powers. She was preceded in death by her husband, Nurman Bill; her siblings, Jimmie Bryant, Norman Sellers, Juanita Young, and Nolan Sellers; and two grandsons, Andrew Bill and Jason Bill. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the building fund at St. Andrews United Methodist Church at 121 Lofton Drive, Fayetteville, NC 28311. Visitation will be at St. Andrews United Methodist Church from 1:00 to 2:00 PM on Tuesday, March 4, 2014, with the service following at 2:00 PM.
