Obituary

Ms. Mary Hall Tarr passed away Tuesday, January 7, 2014. A memorial service will be held Saturday January 11, 2014 at First Baptist Church at 11AM. The family will receive friends from 10-11AM in the church parlor. Mary H. Tarr FAYETTEVILLE — Mrs. Mary Alice Hall Tarr, 68, of Fayetteville, passed away on Tuesday, Jan. 7, 2014, in her residence surrounded by her loving family after a courageous battle with cancer. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Fayetteville and later joined Campground United Methodist Church in Fayetteville. Mary Alice was the co-owner of the Haynie School for several years. She was preceded in death by her parents, Tracey and Vidalia Hall and brothers, Tracy Ivey Hall III and Thomas "Tommy" Harold Hall. A memorial service will be held today, Jan. 11, 2014 at 11 a.m. in First Baptist Church, 201 Anderson St., Fayetteville, NC 28301, with the Rev. A. Edward Beddingfield Jr. and the Rev. John D. Blackman Jr. officiating. The family will receive friends in the memorial lounge at the church on today, Jan. 11, 2014, from 10 to 11 a.m. Mrs. Tarr is survived by her husband, William Carle Tarr II of the home; son, Brian Carle Tarr and wife Erin of Raleigh; sister-in-law, Grace Hall and sister-in-law, Mary Sue Livingston. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Fayetteville Animal Protection Society, 3927 Bragg Blvd., Fayetteville, NC 28303; or Friends of the Cancer Center c/o Cape Fear Valley Medical Center, 1638 Owen Dr. Fayetteville, NC 28304.
