Obituary

Mary Smith Kinlaw, 94, of Fayetteville, passed away Friday, September 6, 2013. She was born January 20, 1919, in Wilson County, NC to the late William and Della Smith. Mary was married to Pete Kinlaw for 70 years and had three children, Carolyn, Terry and Kramer. She was a great wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who loved her family more than life itself. She was a member of Second Baptist Church for more than 60 years. She was retired from Sears, tirelessly volunteered at the VA Medical Center in Fayetteville, and was a contributor to the construction of the NC State Veterans Nursing Home. She was preceded in death by her husband, Pete; brother, Thomas Smith; and sister, Clara Morgan. Funeral services will be held on Monday, September 9, 2013, at 11 am in Jernigan Warren Chapel with Rev. Sherill Boykin officiating. The burial will follow at LaFayette Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Sunday evening from 5 to 7 pm at the funeral home. She is survived by her daughter, Carolyn Little and husband Bill of Fayetteville; sons, Terry Kinlaw of Fayetteville and Kramer Kinlaw and wife Wanda of Asheboro; five grandchildren, Mark Little, Joelle Roseborough, Dena Downing, Kevin Kinlaw and Brian Kinlaw; and 10 great-grandchildren. The family asks that memorials be made to 2nd Baptist Church, 522 Person St, Fayetteville NC 28301.
