Mary Maxine Moore Ramsey, 80, of Fayetteville, N.C., passed away peacefully at her home on Tuesday, Sept. 15, 2015.

She was born Oct. 18, 1934, in Pottsville to Joseph Arthur Moore and Nora Patterson Moore.

She was a loving devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She was always concerned about others before herself. She had a loving heart and touched so many lives with her presence.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 45 years, (Ret.) Col. John D. Ramsey; her parents; brothers, Dawson Moore and Ralph Moore; and a sister, Viva J. (VJ) Bolin.

Funeral Services will be 2 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 19, 2015, at Jernigan-Warren Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from noon until 2:00 p.m. prior to the service at funeral home. Private burial will be at Sandhill's State Veterans Cemetery on Monday, Sept. 21, 2015.

She is survived by her daughter, Deb Hall and husband George of Salemburg, N.C.; sons, JD Ramsey II and wife Libby of Goldsboro, N.C., and, Todd Ramsey and wife Suzanne of Greenville, N.C.; grandchildren, John D. Ramsey, III and wife Megan, George Hall, II and wife Maggie, Erik Ramsey and Lance Ramsey and wife Jennifer; great-grandchildren, LJ and Blake Ramsey, Millie Hall and Jack Ramsey. She is also survived by a sister, Virginia Burnett; brother, David Moore; and sister-in-law, Carolyn Ramsey; and many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to the American Cancer Society.
