Mary Kennedy Vittetoe, age 87, died Tuesday, July 24, 2018 at Tidelands Waccamaw Community Hospital. Mary resided at Hope Arbor Assisted Living, in Murrells Inlet, SC.Born in Long Branch, NJ. Mary is a daughter of the late Michael Kennedy and Mary Concannon. Mary was a member of St. Michaels Catholic Church of Garden City, SC and was formally a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church of Fayetteville, NC. She was a hospital volunteer in Fayetteville for 10 years at Cape Fear Valley Hospital. She was a retired Civil Service Clerk with 22 years of service serving in Alaska, Ft. Bragg, and Pope AFB. Mary is preceded in death by her husband of 31 years, Roy Vittetoe, daughters Joan Van Doren and Dianne Jones, grandson Charlie Jones, two brothers Robert Kennedy and John Kennedy, and sister Katherine Harding. Survivors include her son Robert Vittetoe (Patricia) of Myrtle Beach; daughter, Barbara McLean (Phil) of Orange Park, FL; Six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and brother Michael Kennedy of Red Bank, NJ.A Funeral Mass will be held 11:00 AM, Friday, July 27, 2018 at St. Patrick Catholic Church. The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Thursday, July 26, 2018 at Jernigan Warren Funeral Home
