Matilda Sclester Barefoot Autry, 93 of Fayetteville passed away on Thursday, December 28, 2017 in Autumn Care Nursing Home in Fayetteville.

Matilda was born August 6, 1924 in Cumberland County, NC to the late Myrtle Elizabeth Page and Noah B. Barefoot. She was retired from the Nutrition Services with the Cumberland County Schools. Matilda was preceded in death by her husband, James Fred Autry.

Graveside services will be held on Saturday, December 30, 2017 at 1:00 pm in Lafayette Memorial Park on Ramsey St. with the Rev. Floyd Benfield, officiating. The family will receive friends following the service at the graveside.

Mrs. Autry is survived by her son, James Larry Autry and wife Zani of Urbanna, Virginia and a daughter, Deborah Stone and husband Larry of Lumberton, NC; grandchildren, Megan Webb and husband Andrew of Chapel Hill; Erin Hetrick and Husband Paul of Cary, NC; Caitlin Kinard and husband Ross of Raleigh, NC; Frederick M. Autry of Garner, NC; and a sister, Marilyn O'Neill and husband Jimmy of Corinth, New York.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a favorite charity.
