Matthew William
Boldig
January 14, 1988 – April 17, 2026
Matthew William Boldig, 38, of Fayetteville, passed away on Friday April 17, 2026.
Matt....or better known as Boldig to his close friends, was born on January 14, 1988, in Cumberland County. He was a proud graduate of Douglas Byrd High School. Matt had always enjoyed building things and working with his hands so it was no surprise that he dedicated his life to flipping houses with his best friend and cousin Justin Hubert. He always took great pride in his work and craftsmanship.
Well known for his quick wit and warm personality, you never knew if you were going to hear a joke, be pranked, receive the best advice or get a lesson about life. Matt was always a joy to be around and was someone you could always depend on no matter the circumstances. His passion in life was fishing and cherished nothing more than the time he spent with his daughters, family, and friends. A devoted father, he found his greatest happiness with his beautiful girls. Matt was also an avid gamer who made time each day to connect and play with his cousins, creating lasting memories and strong bonds.
He is survived by his daughters, Desiree Hicks and Ellie Boldig; his mother, Margarete Cooney and her husband, Jeffrey; his father, Mark Boldig; his sister, Melissa Boldig; his beloved fur companion Elliott; as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends who will miss him dearly.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, April 25, 2026, from 1 to 2 pm at Jernigan-Warren Funeral Home, followed by a Funeral service at 2 pm in the Jernigan-Warren Chapel.
