Mr. Maurice Ronald \\"Barney\\" Stallings, Jr. ,77, of Fayetteville, died Friday, January 29, 2010, in his residence. A memorial service is planned for Tuesday, February 2, 2010, at 11 am in Snyder Memorial Baptist Church. The family will receive friends from 9:30 to 11 am in the Gathering Hall. Barney served in US Air Force and was a retired air traffic controller from Grannis Field. He was an active member of Snyder Memorial Baptist Church where he was a deacon and a member of the Carpentry ministry. He is survived by his wife, Julia Wade Stallings of the home; three sons, Maurice R. Stallings III and wife Judy of Gastonia, Dick Stallings of Fayetteville, and Douglas Alexander Stallings and wife Maryann of Ft. Mills, SC; a daughter, Sharon Gorman of Texarkana, Texas; a brother, Norman Percy Stallings of Durham; sister, Betsy Anne Morton of Durham; 8 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. Memorials may be made to either Operation Inasmuch , 531 Hillsboro St., Fayetteville, NC 28301; or to Snyder Memorial Baptist Church, 701 Westmont Drive, Fayetteville, NC 28305.
