Max E. Mahlke, of Fayetteville, died Sunday, March 31, 2013, in the home. He was born Jan. 3, 1937, in Wheeling, W.Va. He was the son of the late Max E. Mahlke and Eleanor Huntsman Mahlke. He was preceded in death by his wife of 53 years, Susie Korell Mahlke, on Nov. 4, 2007. He was a Southern Baptist by faith and a member of The River Community Church. He was a retired pharmacist and co-owner of Carolina JJ, LLC. He graduated from Wheeling High School, received his Bachelor of Science in pharmacy from West Virginia University. A memorial service will be held Monday, April 8, 2013, at 3:30 p.m. in Jernigan-Warren Funeral Home chapel in Fayetteville with the Rev. Todd Brady officiating. The family will receive friends following the service at the funeral home. Max is survived by two daughters and a son, Elizabeth M. Craft, Stephanie M. Burford and Max K. Mahlke, all of Fayetteville; and six grandchildren, Robert and Brooks Burford, Henry and Daniel Craft and Robert and Sarah Mahlke.
