Maxine Roussel Motel, 74, of Fayetteville NC, passed away Sunday February 4, 2024, at home following a lengthy illness, surrounded by her family.

She was passionate about her "doxies" and loved playing with technology, good food, and laughing with family over their shenanigans. She doted on her grandchildren and spent several years taking wonderful care of her mother.

Maxine was preceded in death by her parents, Gerald and Mary Grace Roussel; sister Debbie Mason; niece Chloe Roussel; and sister-in-law Nancy Roussel. She is survived by her beloved husband of 43 years Robert Motel; son Patrick Richard; daughter Amber Engel and husband Mark; 2 grandchildren: Evan and Lucas Engel; 3 brothers: Carl Roussel and wife Rose Lyn; Larry Roussel; John Roussel and wife Lori; brother-in-law Robert Mason; and 4 nephews: Jason and Joseph Roussel, and Trevor and Ian Roussel.

The family will receive friends on Friday, February 9, 2024 from 6 to 8pm at Jernigan-Warren Funeral Home.  A funeral service will be held on Saturday, February 10, 2024, at 10am in the Jernigan-Warren Chapel with burial following at Lafayette Memorial Park on Ramsey Street.
