Melanie Sharon Heaton Watson, 64, of Wade, passed away on Friday, April 9, 2021.

She was born February 10, 1957 to the late Ross and Gloria Heaton in New Orleans, LA.

Melanie retired from Civil Service at Ft. Bragg after 36 years of service.  She is a Veteran of the National Guard.  She loved gardening, flowers, birds and her favorite color was purple.  She was a loving wife, mother, sister and friend.

She is survived by her husband of 33 years, James "Jim" David Watson; children, Adria D. Watson and William J. Watson; twin sister, Pam Anderson and husband, Craig; sister, Brenda Miller; sister-in-law, Patsy Hackett; nieces and nephews, R. J. Carter, Adam Weaver, Emily Anderson, and Steven Anderson.

Melanie was loving and compassionate, had a great sense of humor and lived life to the fullest.

A Memorial service will be held on Friday, April 16, 2021 at Jernigan-Warren Funeral Home.  Social distancing and masks are required.
