Michael Donald Bennett, 62, of Fayetteville, NC passed away on Friday, September 29, 2023, in his residence.

Michael is preceded in death as the son of  Donald John Bennett and Elizabeth Faye Davis. He was born in Fort Campbell, Kentucky on April 19,1961 in the base's military hospital.

Michael was a native of Fayetteville, N.C and graduated from Douglas Byrd Senior High School in 1979. Shortly after graduation, he moved to Oakland, CA for several years and worked in construction and as an auto mechanic. He joined the military (army) for one term and worked as a military tank and truck mechanic. He returned to the Fayetteville area some years later and worked for over 20 years as an industrial mechanic in a processing plant.

Michael had a gentle and kind heart who was always willingly to help anyone in need. He was especially loyal to his family and friends and was known for his generosity and kindness towards others. He had a quiet demeanor and was well-loved by his family and friends. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

He is survived by several family members. Sisters: Bronda (Tony) Silva of Sacramento, CA; Maureen Bennett of Madera, CA and Vicki (Michael) Szwaja of Hoke County, NC, and Brother: Bruce Bennett of San Diego,CA; and half sister Elizabeth Cox (deceased) of Anderson SC.  Aunts and Uncles: Nelson and Gloria Davis of Hilton Head, SC; Robert and Carol Wadsworth of St. Louis, Mo; David (deceased) and Cindy Bennett of Cleveland, OH and Brenda Wolfe of Waterford, CT; In addition, there are numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

Memorial Graveside Service will be held at 1pm on Saturday, October 21, 2023 in Cumberland Memorial Gardens 4509 Raeford Road, Fayetteville, NC 28304
