Michael Eugene Derengowski, 54, of 5904 Waterdale Court, Fayetteville, formerly of Flint, Mich., died Friday, Sept. 12, 2008, in his home. A memorial service will be held at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 16, 2008, in Jernigan-Warren Funeral Home chapel with Father Hurley officiating. The family will receive friends for an hour prior to the service from 6 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Mr. Derengowski was an Army sergeant first class with 21 years of service. He was assigned with the 82nd Airborne Division on Fort Bragg and retired with the 37th Engineer Battalion. He earned numerous medals including the Bronze Star and Meritorious Service Medals during his career. He was employed for 15 years as an assistant site manager with Lear Siegler. Mr. Derengowski is survived by his wife, Kelli Derengowski; son, Steven; daughters, Danelle, Katelynn and Melissa; and three grandchildren, all of Fayetteville; brother, Walter Derengowski of Flint; and sisters, Kathleen Williams of Rantoul, Ill., Eva Lefler of Flint, Margaret Britt of St. Joseph, Ill., Mary Margaret Drew of Swartz Creek, Mich., and Wanda White of Mahomet, Ill. He was preceded in death by his parents, Georgia and Eugene Derengowski. Memorials may be made to the cancer society of one
