Michael John Dieck,70, of Fayetteville passed away on Tuesday, May 2, 2023 at his home with his beloved family by his side.

Michael was born July 20, 1952 in Peoria, Illinois to the late Josephine Marie and William Dieck. He was preceded in death by his brother, William Dieck and sisters, Marilyn Betterton and Leila Petticrew.

Michael was a retired U.S. Army Chief Warrant Officer 2. He served on the U.S. Army Parachute Team, The Golden Knights, for 33 years with 7 of those years active duty and 26 years as a civilian contractor in aviation maintenance. He was a recipient of the Charles Taylor "Master Mechanic" award for 50 years of safe aviation maintenance.

Michael is survived by his wife, Susan Protz Dieck; son, Michael Noah Dieck and wife Catherine; daughters, Sarah Marie Pontickio and husband Steven, Susan Elizabeth Dieck; sisters, Susanne Robb and Elizabeth Mitchell and husband Gary; 6 grandchildren.

A Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, May 8, 2023 at 11 AM at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Sandhills State Veterans Cemetery with military honors. The family will receive friends at Jernigan-Warren Funeral Home on Sunday, May 7, 2023 from 3-5:00 PM.
