Retired Army First SGT Michael T. Hanowell, 56 of Fayetteville, passed away on Friday, November 26, 2010. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War era and Desert Storm Era. A memorial service will be held Thursday, December 2, 2010 at 12pm (noon) in Campground United Methodist Church with the Rev. Haywood Smith and the Rev. Deacon Patrick D. Snyder officiating. The burial will be held in Arlington National Cemetery at a later date. The family will receive friends from 11am to 12pm at the church prior to the service. He is survived by his loving wife of 32 years Debra D. Hanowell of the home, a son, Dennis M. Hanowell and a daughter Heidi A. Hanowell all of Fayetteville, 1 sister and three brothers; and his beloved pets Lucy, Jessie, & Phoebe. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Fayetteville Animal Protection Society (FAPS) at PO Box 58195, Fayetteville, NC 28305.
