FAYETTEVILLE — Retired Army Sgt. 1st Class Michael Edward Kato, 50, of Fayetteville, passed away Monday, April 14, 2014, in Cape Fear Valley Medical Center. Mr. Kato was an Army veteran and an employee of Cheers Too. He was preceded in death by his father, Edward A. Kato; and his brother, Edward Paul Kato. A funeral service will be held Thursday, April 17, 2014, at 1 p.m. in Jernigan-Warren Funeral Home chapel. The family will receive friends at the funeral home an hour prior to the service. Mr. Kato is survived by his wife, Sabrina Kato of the home; son, Raymon Kato and girlfriend, Karen, of Fayetteville; daughters, Robyn Kato and fiance, Brenton, of Fayetteville, and Kristina Kato and boyfriend, David, of Fayetteville; adopted daughter, Chanise George; mother, Antoinette Kato of Merchantville, N.J.; father and mother-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. John Revels of Lumberton; two grandchildren, A.J. and Rayce Kato; and adopted granddaughter, Kyleigh Simmons.
