Miss Mikayla Brielle Watkins, 5 years, 6 months and 1 day old, of Fayetteville, died Tuesday, September 8, 2015 at 5:30 p.m. Duke University Medical Center. Mikayla attended and graduated from the Academy at St. Andrews United Methodist Church. She was a happy, cheerful, loving child devoted to her family, her church and our Lord Jesus. She was wrapped in a blanket of love throughout her short but joyful life; and she stood as witness to the power and miracles of her Heavenly Father until her last breath. Funeral Services will be held Sunday, September 13, 2015 at 3:00 p.m. at St. Andrews United Methodist Church, burial will follow in the Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday, from 2-3 p.m. one hour prior to the service at St. Andrews United Methodist Church. Mikayla is survived by her family, John and Carol Watkins, Derek and Kimberly Scott all of Fayetteville; C.P., Carrie, George and Gracie Watkins all of Fairfax, VA; Jenny and Howard Ramsden and Charlie Summers all of Southport; Ella and Jennifer Summers of Wilmington; Angela Miller and Jackie Wold of Morrisville; Allison Douglas of Raeford; Linda Scott of Holden Beach; and others in her church and extended families. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Mikayla Memorial Fund at St. Andrews United Methodist Church to be used to support Mikayla's Teddy Bear Ministry, a children's choir, hand bell choir and a puppet ministry in her memory.
