Obituary

Milbon \\"Mib\\" Williford, 81, passed away on Monday, November 24, 2008, at Cape Fear Valley Medical center. Mr. Williford was a Navy veteran serving in World War II aboard the U.S.S. Wisconsin. After his service to his country, Mr. Williford worked in Fayetteville at Sears for 24 years and later owned and operated Williford's Hardware in Fayetteville for 24 years. Mib was an active member of LaFayette Baptist Church, where he was a member of the Keenager's club, and enjoyed the fellowship and trips. Golfing, fishing, and dining out, with friends, were his favorite pastimes. He relished time with his grandchildren and great-granddaughter. Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 29, 2008, at 11 am in LaFayette Baptist Church, located at 501 Hope Mills Road, with Dr. Brian Lee officiating. The burial will follow at Cumberland Memorial Gardens. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Addie Parnell Williford of Fayetteville; three children, Bobby Williford and his wife, Wanda, of Fayetteville, Kathy Pegram and husband, Richard, of Tampa, FL, and Sheila Frazier and husband, Donald, of Fayetteville; a sister, Joanne Lovick of Eastover; five grandchildren, Katy Pegram of Indianapolis, Lindsay Hall and husband, Jeremy, of Fayetteville, Jessica Pegram of Chicago, Carlin Williford of Raleigh, and Zak Frazier of Winter Park, FL; and one great-grandchild, Riley Hall of Fayetteville, who shares his birthday. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service Saturday morning from 10 to 11 am at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to LaFayette Baptist Church.
