Obituary

Mildred "Millie" Melvin Clark, 92 of Fayetteville, passed away on Saturday December 5, 2020 at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center.

She was born to Farriss Keech Melvin and Lela Cashwell Melvin in Greensboro, N.C. and grew up in the Stedman community. Over the years she worked at the Capitol Department Store, South River EMC, Selective Service for 27 years where she retired, and then as a Teacher Assistant at JW Seabrook Elementary School. Millie's favorite hobby was shopping and she was definitely very good at it. She was an active member of Judson Baptist Church for over 70 years where she was church clerk, WMU director, and music director.

Millie was preceded in death by her parents, her sister, Betty Melvin Tyndall, her son, Henry "Hank" Edward Clark II, and her husband, Henry Clark. She is survived by her son, Stephen Clark and wife, Elizabeth; daughter-in-law, Bonnie Clark; grandchildren, Chase Clark, McKenzie Stafford and husband, Thomas; great granddaughter, McKenna Stafford; and many nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank Mrs. Clark's caregivers Gwen, Tina, Victoria, and the doctors and nurses at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center 3-South. We could not have done it without them.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that you consider making a donation to the WMU fund at Judson Baptist Church, 505 Judson Church Rd., Fayetteville, N.C. 28312 or The Mack Roberts Evangelistic Association, Inc., P.O. Box 374, Dublin, N.C. 28332.

In keeping with the COVID 19 guidelines, the family will have a private graveside service.
