Obituary

Mildred Caballero Escobedo, matriarch of the Caballero family from Harlingen, TX, died peacefully in her home on June 25, 2024. She was surrounded by her five loving daughters at the time of her death.

She is survived by Hilda E. Litchfield (Scott), Nedda E. Lujan (Pat), Isabella E. Ostendorf (Jimmy), Norma E. Dupe (James), and Edana E. Christy (Tony). She had nine grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, Pedro R. Escobedo; her mother, Aurora F. Caballero; father Sabas Caballero, Sr.; sister Pajita Chamberlain; and brother Sabas Caballero, Jr., all from Harlingen, TX.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednedsay, July 10, 2024 at 10:30 A.M. at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, burial will follow at Sandhills State Veteran's Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening, July 9, 2024 from 7 to 9 P.M. at Jernigan-Warren Funeral Home.
