Mrs. Mildred Ann McDonald Herndon, 81, of Raleigh, passed away Friday evening, July 12, 2013, in her residence. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, July 17, 2013, at 4 pm in Jernigan Warren Chapel with Rev. David Huffman presiding. The burial will follow at LaFayette Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 6 to 8 pm at Jernigan Warren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Vance Herndon, daughter Susan Ann Herndon Woodard, and son Donald Vance Herndon. She is survived by daughter, Cynthia Herndon Fowler and husband Terry of Raleigh, NC, and their son Jerry Cummings of Castalia, NC; her sisters, Agnes McDonald Covington and husband Oswald of Aberdeen, NC, Virginia McDonald Morgan of Buford, GA, and Patricia McDonald Harrison and husband Jim of Hamilton, Ont; brothers, Charles McDonald and wife Maxine of Aurora, NC, and George McDonald and wife Martha of Little Washington, NC; granddaughter, Valerie Nelson and husband William, Old Hickory, TN and their children Andrew Winget and Lucy Nelson; granddaughter, Lauren Nichole Ross, Old Hickory TN and her children Jayson Evan Creech and Kylie Ann Creech.
