Monika Kulisch Burrell was born on April 24th 1944 to the parentage of Karl Kulisch and Herta Erna Martha of Berlin, Germany.

She graduated with a degree in Marketing Design which lead her to live and travel in the United States during the mid 60s. She would meet her partner of 50 years, Lawrence Burrell, at a Ray Charles concert while on holiday in Germany.

Monika was a creative soul who loved making her surroundings beautiful. She decorated her family and friends with handmade jewelry. She had a spunky spirit and a great sense of humor.  She was a volunteer with the Women's Auxillary in Fayetteville, NC and active in other community organizations.  She was a dedicated caregiver to her family as well.

She passed away on Friday June 3,2022. She leaves to cherish her memories as well as carry on her legacy, her daughter, Stephanie Burrell;  sister, Christa Lindenblatt; nephew, Ronny Lehmann;  nieces, Heike Schafer, Leila Pietsch, Claudia Lindenblatt, and niece from the Burrell family, LaWanda Burrell Ethridge and numerous other nieces and nephews that she loved dearly.
