Monnie Ray Slaughter, 74, of Fayetteville, died Thursday, December 28, 2006, in St. Lukes Regional Medical Center in Sioux City, Iowa following an extended illness.
Monnie was born July 5, 1932, in Fayetteville the daughter of Samuel and Ivey Ray. She is a graduate of Fayetteville High School. Monnie married James L. Slaughter. James preceded her in death on May 21, 2001, in Fayetteville. Monnie retired from Commercial Credit in Fayetteville, after several years of service. She enjoyed reading, watching movies, and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Friday, January 5, 2007, at 1 pm in the Jernigan Warren Chapel with the Rev. Todd Brady officiating. The burial will follow at LaFayette Memorial Park.
Survivors include two sons, Kevin \\"Scott\\" Slaughter and his wife, Angie, of Ponca, Nebraska and James \\"Lee\\" Slaughter and his special friend, Rebecca Smith of Fayetteville; a brother, Jimmie Ray and his wife, Sarah, of Tarheel; seven grandchildren, Angela, Monnie, Samantha, Hannah, Brett, Ryan and Aidan; also one great grandchild. Monnie was preceded in death by her parents and two sons, Mark and David.
