Fayetteville, NC--Morris D. McDonald at the age of 86 passed away peacefully at home on July 30, 2012. He was born in Stedman, NC on March 18, 1926 to the late Eppie Don McDonald and Minnie Augusta McDonald. Morris was a Navy Veteran of World War II and retired from Newport News shipyard after 27 years. He never met a stranger to anyone and very well thought of by all who knew him. A graveside service will be held Sunday, August 5, 2012 at 1pm in Lafayette Memorial Park on Ramsey Street. Morris was preceded in death by his brothers Buddy McDonald, Cyrus McDonald, Dennis McDonald and Thomas McDonald and sisters Lena Carter and Hetty Whaley. Mr. McDonald is survived by wife of 62 years, Peggy McDonald , daughters, Beverly Lane and husband Mitch, Phyllis Hutson, and sons Michael McDonald and wife Debbie, and Dennis McDonald, granddaughters, Jaime Hutson and Joelle Lane and grandson Aaron McDonald and one great granddaughter Riley. Morris also leaves behind sisters Betty McDuffie and Elmaze Weeks, brothers Lacy McDonald and wife Helen and many nieces and nephews.
