Nadine Council Johnson, 90, of the Grays Creek community passed away Tues, January 28, 2014 surrounded by her loving family.
Her celebration of life service will be sat., Feb. 1 at 3:00 at Jernigan Warren with Pastor Gary Lucas officiating. Visitation is at 2:00 prior to the service. Burial will follow at Lafayette Memorial Park on Ramsey Street.
She was an active member of Bladen Union Baptist Church since 1933 & was presented the "Longest Standing Member " plaque. She was respected & loved by all who met her. She retired after working at Henebrys Jewelers for 25 yrs. & Hatchers & Belks for 10 yrs. Before her health declined, she was active in church, loved quilting, gardening,& traveling with her daughters.
She was preceded in death by her husband J. Casper Johnson. Surviving are her daughters Glenda Evans, Joyce Minkley, Nancy Rogers, her son Robert Junius Johnson, grandsons Bill & Michael Evans & wife Kathy, Bryan Dix & wife Kelley, Eric Rogers & wife Jo Carol, Isaac Rogers & wife Melinda, great grand children Lauren & Ron Evans, Autumn McNeill, Lance & Ethan Rogers, & Michael & Megan Wright.
Care angels who also lovingly provided care include Tammy Hendrix, Sherry Johnson, Shelia Hare, Lisa Edwards, Kelly West, Melinda Lewis, Angie Cashwell, Sandy Patterson, Sissy Locklear, Pennie Council, Gale Maxwell & Anne Rushing.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Multiple Sclerosis Society, the Neuropathy Assoc or Bladen Union Baptist Church.
