Nathan Howard Williams

NEW BERN - 96, formally of Fayetteville, NC passed away Tuesday, February 16, 2016 at Brookdale Assisting Living New Bern. He was a World War II Veteran.

Funeral services will be at Jernigan-Warren Funeral Home, 545 Ramsey St. Fayetteville, NC on Friday, February 19, 2016 at 2:00 pm followed by graveside service with military honors at LaFayette Memorial Park on Ramsey St. Funeral will be conducted by Rev.David Banks pastor, Garber United Methodist Church, New Bern.The family will receive friends from 1pm to 2pm on Friday, February 19, 2016 in at the funeral home.

Howard is survived by his wife of 73 years Mary Cain Williams, two daughters, Jan Williams and Carol Erwin and son-in-law Russ Erwin, all of New Bern.

A native of the Wade Community in Cumberland County, NC Howard was the son of the late Cleveland and Pearl Culberth Williams. In addition to his parents, Howard was preceded in death by his brothers Leroy, David and Jacob Williams and sister Elizabeth W. Collier and Urella W. Ortega.

Howard retired from the VA Hospital in Fayetteville and in 2006 moved from Fayetteville to New Bern to be near his famiily.
