Neil Jerome (Jerry) Armstrong, Jr., 66, of Badin Lake, NC entered into eternal rest September 25, 2011. Jerry was born on November 29, 1944, in Greensboro, NC to the late Dr. Neil Armstrong, Sr. and survived by his mother Margaret Ritch Armstrong. Jerry was an accomplished Musician and served as Minister of Music at the First Baptist Church in Elizabeth City, NC; Mineral Springs Baptist Church in Winston Salem, NC; First Baptist Church in Richmond, VA; Second Ponce de Leon Church in Atlanta, GA; and the First Baptist Church of Aberdeen, NC. Jerry received his Bachelor's Degree of Music from Limestone College. He was a member of the NC Baptist Singers. Jerry was an avid golfer and never met a stranger. He enjoyed his time on Badin Lake. Services will be held at Village Baptist Church in Fayetteville, NC on Friday at 11 am, with visitation at 10 am. Entombment in the mausoleum will be at Oakwood Memorial Park in High Point, NC later that afternoon. Jerry Armstrong is survived by his mother, Margaret Ritch Armstrong; daughter, Jennifer Armstrong Day and husband David Day, their 3 children Mackenzie, Colin, and Ethan of Columbia, SC; his son Brian Armstrong and wife Ladonna, their 3 children Dylan, Sofia, and Vanessa of Aiken, SC; and a grandson, Chris Armstrong.
