Norman J. Matthews Fayetteville- Norman Jones Matthews, 85, of Fayetteville, NC passed away Thursday, February 27, 2014. He served four years in the United States Air Force and was a Combat Decorated Veteran. He retired from the VA Medical Center with 30 years of service. After retirement, he was a Partner with Caroland Realty. He is preceded in death by his wife, Willa Crumpler Matthews and wife Carole Ossenfort Matthews. He is also preceded in death by his sisters; Havens Lucas, Grace McMillan and Blanche Logan. He is survived by his wife of 9 years, Wanda Arven Matthews, of the home; daughters, Myra Croft of Clinton, NC, Norma Roberts (Glenn) of Cleveland, TN; stepchildren, Penny Costin (Mike) and BeBe (Don) Williams of Clinton, Sheri Bell (Tony) of Hope Mills and Steve Smith (Tammy); siblings, Lillian Lee of Fayetteville, Ella Dragun of Columbia, SC and Mexie Thompson (Tony) of Lawrenceville, GA; 3 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. Services: Visitation, Saturday, March 01, 2014 from 4PM to 7PM at Jernigan-Warren. The funeral will be held in the Jernigan-Warren Chapel on Sunday, March 2, 2014 at 3PM, with the Rev. David Crumpler officiating. Burial will follow in Lafayette Memorial Park on Ramsey Street with Air Force Honors. Visitation: Saturday, March 1, 2014 from 4-7pm at Jernigan-Warren.
