Obituary

WILMINGTON — Mrs. Ola Rheuark Grooms, 80, formerly of Fayetteville, passed away Thursday, April 5, 2007, in New Hanover Regional Medical Center. Mrs. Grooms was born Sept. 16, 1926, in Robeson County to Morris and Jessie Atkinson Rheuark. She was a member of Camp Ground United Methodist Church, a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and the Shrinettes. Survivors include her husband of 58 years, J. Paul Grooms Sr. of the home; two daughters, Faye Hamm and husband Bill of Burgaw and Beth Stanton and husband Bill of Wilmington; son, J. Paul "Buddy" Grooms Jr. and wife Alice of Fayetteville; four grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Monday, April 9, 2007, at 2:30 p.m. in the church sanctuary at Camp Ground United Methodist Church by the Revs. David C. Wade and David Malcolm. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. at the church. The family requests, in lieu of flowers, memorials be made to Camp Ground United Methodist Church, 4625 Camp Ground Road, Fayetteville, NC 28314; or to the Shriner
